Urakointi J-P Heikkilä offers transportation services, machine contracting, property maintenance, and the sale of gravel and aggregates. The online store's sales had not met expectations, and the objective was to boost sales, particularly to private customers, through a website redesign and a fresh visual identity. Additionally, the site's user-experience needed improvement, and the old website failed to effectively convey the family business's core values: outstanding customer service and professionalism.

After a complete website redesign and search engine optimization, the company quickly rose to the top positions on Google, resulting in a significant increase in both inquiries and online store sales.

Thanks to SEO, the services and online store products rose to the top positions on Google just few weeks after the website's launch, including the following keywords:

  • Winter maintenance Hämeenlinna: 2nd
  • Property maintenance Kanta-Häme: 3rd
  • Excavation Hämeenlinna: 4th

These rankings have remained at the top of Google without ongoing SEO efforts for over 80 optimal search terms.

The online store gained a professional and distinctive appearance with new product images
The online store's product images needed updating. I guided the client on how to take good product photos with a phone against a white background. The client’s effort was incredible, and the result truly amazed me. With Finnish determination, the client dug the frozen aggregates out from under the snow and ice and dried them with hand. Thanks to the new product images, we were able to create a cohesive and unique look.

Integration of Quantity and Freight Calculator
The quantity and freight calculators make ordering products easy

The quantity calculator designed for the client's old website was completely redesigned and integrated into WooCommerce. The old calculator was not mobile-friendly, but the new one works seamlessly on every device.

The quantity calculator calculates the required amount of gravel and soil based on area and thickness. Additionally, the customer can select a delivery date from the calendar or choose additional services and note any delivery preferences.

With the freight calculator in the shopping cart and checkout, the customer can see the delivery cost by entering the delivery address. The freight calculator automatically calculates the nearest departure point to the customer.

COLORS & TYPOGRAPHY
The brand identity is based on strong typography and clear, trust-inspiring colors
The modern sans-serif font family, Conigen, conveys clarity and strength. The dark blue primary color creates a sense of stability, supported by fresher shades of blue. The coral accent color adds dynamism and distinctiveness, particularly in headings and highlights, while the neutral light background serves as a balancing element.
